Plantatia:
High-toned and Low-down Stories of
the South
by Dixon
Hearne, published by Southeast
Missouri State University Press, has
won top recognition in the
Creative
Spirit Awards competition.
The Creative
Spirit Awards™
was created
by award-winning industry
professionals to annually honor the
best in film, music, and books.
The winning categories for all three
mediums are: Platinum, Gold, and
Silver. Only industry professionals
will make up the judging panels in
all three competition categories
creating a total and unique
peer-based judging system. The
creators of the competition take
pride in the fact that this is the
first and only competition to award
excellence in the fields of
filmmaking, writing, and music.
THE TROPHY
Each
Trophy is elegantly designed and
engraved with the competition name,
level of award, the title of the
work, the artist’s name, and the
artist’s title.
JUDGING
While some other competitions are
judged by corporate and/or
non-industry professionals, the
judges at the Creative Spirit
Awards™ are comprised of industry
professionals who have excelled in
their fields creating a complete
peer-based judging system. A panel
of authors and/or editors will judge
books, music will be judged by
musicians and/or music publishing
professionals, and producers,
directors, and/or professional film
critics will judge the film
submissions. Judging is based on a
unique system original to this
competition which not only makes it
a rigorous competition, but one in
which the creative excellence of
each submission is judged solely on
its own merits, and not in
competition with other entries.
